  HILLY REGIONS OF SHAN STATE (5D4N)
  (YANGON-HEHO-PINDAYA-KALAW-KAKKU-NYAUNGSHWE-INLE-HEHO-YANGON)

 


Day 1. YANGON

YangonArrive Yangon with morning flight. Meet by April Tour operator at the Yangon International Airport. Transfer and Hotel check-in. Sightseeing starts around Kandawgyi Park where Karaweik Hall is designed as a Royal Floating Barge on Kandawgyi Lake (formerly Victoria Lake). After lunch, visit National Museum, which has a range of interesting cultural & historical exhibits, including 8m-hight Lion Throne (Sihasana) used by King Thibaw of Mandalay; royal regalia, furniture, paintings, inscribed stones of Pyu & Bagan periods; prehistoric findings; woodcarvings; folk cultural items; archaeological findings; and mannequins dressed ethnic groups in the country. In the evening, pay homage to Shwedagon Pagoda, the golden dome rise 98 m is the famous world renowned Pagoda, the highlight of Yangon. Overnight at Hotel.

 

Day 2. HEHO-PINDAYA-KALAW

Early morning, fly to Heho and drive to Pindaya (about 2½ hours). Upon arrival, visit famous Pindaya Cave with 8049 Buddha images. In the afternoon, visit paper umbrella and traditional Shan paper making cottage industry. In the evening, drive back (about 3½ hours) to Nyaung Shwe; a gateway town to the northern bank of Inle Lake. Check in Hotel and stay overnight in Kalaw.

 

Day 3.KALAW-KAKKU-NYAUNG SHWE

Floating MarketBreakfast at hotel and drive to Kyaukhtalone Pa-O village (approx 2 hrs). Proceed to Kakku Pagoda Complex (approx 1½ hr). This unique pagodas complex is believed to have been here since 307 BC and shrines totaling more then two thousand five hundred. Explore around the sites and return to Taunggyi (approx 2 hrs). Visit sites in Taunggyi and in the evening sunset view from Sulamuni Pagoda. Overnight at Hotel in Inle.

 

Day 4. INLE

Sulamuni PagodaAfter breakfast, journeys start for whole day Samkar and Thakong trip by powered-boat. The trip takes (approx 3 hrs) drive from Nyaung shwe jetty to Samkar. High lights of the trip include: 1). Visit once every 5 day’s market at Kyauk Daing, a Shan village mostly live on earthenware pottery works. Naung Bo, a “Pa Oh” village also can be visited. 2). Observed local methods of producing high degree of Alcohol fermented and extracted from Bran Rice. By walking through in Samkar village, rice mill factory, making bullock cart wheels could be observed. 3). Unspoiled culture and traditional life-styles of the ethnic groups of Pa-Oh and “Intha” inhabited around Samkar and Hmawbi area. After lunch break, cruising down from Lake Inle, beautiful landscaping, flowering trees and settlements dotted on both sides of the canal could be observed. Overnight at Hotel in Inle.

 

Day 5.INLE-HEHO-YANGON

After breakfast, depart for journey back to Yangon. Leave for Yangon International Airport for departure with evening flight. Journey’s END.
