Yangon

The former capital of Myanmar possesses a unique charm with its colonial-era architecture, tree-lined avenues, bustling local markets, and tranquil lakes. Among its most famous landmarks is the world-renowned Shwedagon Pagoda, built over 2,500 years ago on its original site to enshrine sacred Buddhist relics. Right in the heart of downtown lies Sule Pagoda, another iconic landmark, while Chaukhtatgyi Pagoda features a magnificent 72-meter-long reclining Buddha image. Along the Yangon riverfront, Botataung Pagoda is renowned for housing sacred Buddha hair relics. For visitors seeking vibrant local life, Chinatown offers lively night markets, historic temples, and street food stalls, and Bogyoke Aung San Market serves as the city’s primary market for souvenirs and handicrafts. Additionally, the National Museum showcases rich exhibits that highlight the heritage and grandeur of ancient Myanmar kings.

Mandalay

As the last capital of the Myanmar Kingdom, Mandalay is now the country's second-largest city and the ultimate cultural and economic center of Upper Myanmar. Renowned as a vibrant hub of traditional arts, lively markets, peaceful monasteries, and sacred religious monuments, the city offers visitors a rich heritage to explore. Key attractions include the Old Royal Palace, Mandalay Hill with its breathtaking panoramic views of the city, and the famous Kuthodaw Pagoda, known as the world's largest book for housing 729 marble slabs inscribed with Buddhist scriptures. Visitors should also admire the exquisite wood carvings and antique artifacts at Shwenandaw Monastery, as well as the revered Mahamuni Buddha Image, a must-visit site for everyone. Beyond its historic landmarks, Mandalay captures the essence of Myanmar's cultural heartland through traditional crafts such as gold leaf making, tapestry weaving, stone carving, and silk weaving, alongside the bustling Zaycho Market and the iconic U Bein Bridge nearby.

Bagan

One of the world's most impressive archaeological sites and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Bagan is a major tourist attraction in Myanmar that dates back to the 9th century. Between the 9th and 13th centuries, over 10,000 Buddhist monuments were built across its vast plains, with more than 2,000 ancient temples and stupas still standing today. Key historic monuments include the revered Ananda Temple, completed in 1091; Thatbyinnyu Temple, the tallest in Bagan at 62 meters; the massive seated Thandawgya Buddha image; along with Gawdawpalin, Shwegugyi, and Dhammayangyi Temples, and the iconic Shwesandaw Pagoda. Visitors can also marvel at other notable sites such as Htilominlo Temple, Mingalazedi Pagoda, and the magnificent Shwezigon Pagoda in Nyaung-U. Beyond its ancient architectural wonders, Bagan offers rich cultural experiences, including visits to traditional lacquerware workshops in Myinkaba Village and New Bagan.

Inle

Nestled 1,328 meters above sea level and surrounded by serene mountain ranges, Inle Lake is the premier attraction in Shan State and Myanmar's second-largest lake. It is renowned for the unique culture of its Intha fishermen, famous for their leg-rowing technique, floating villages, floating gardens, floating markets, and traditional fishing methods. Key highlights include visits to the sacred Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda and the historic Nga Phe Kyaung Monastery.
